The Painted Lady butterfly – Belle Dame – is considered to be the queen of migratory butterflies. It can be seen in the vines of Château Montrose, from flowering through to harvest, delicately poised on a Cabernet Sauvignon flower or brushing against a rose as it flutters at the end of a row. Montrose is a treasure trove of sap and nectar. Having the butterfly in our ecosystem is a source of great pride as it embodies our respect and affection for the terroir – the very essence of Château Montrose.
